Coffee

Our very own blended coffee is rich in taste and aroma. We source quality coffee beans to produce finely ground Greek and Turkish style coffees. We also offer quality Arabica coffee beans such as Kenyan and Santos. Our coffee range also extends to infused flavoured coffee beans, de-caffeinated, organic and green (raw) coffee beans.

Gaganis Greek and Turkish Style Coffee

Our Greek and Turkish style coffees are blended using finely balanced and developed recipes of fine coffee beans sourced from South America and Africa. Our beans are carefully roasted and then ground to a delicate fineness. The resulting coffee is truly a taste worth experiencing. Greek Style Coffee has a slightly smoother taste than the Turkish Style Coffee (which is stronger and contains increased bitter qualities).Gaganis Greek Style Coffee is available in 200g and 500g retail packs. Gaganis Turkish Style Coffee is available in 500g and 1kg retails packs. Our Turkish Style Coffee is also made in Light, Medium and Dark roast to accommodate the preferred strength and tastes of all who drink the product.

Making a Greek or Turkish style coffee

Enjoy a quality Greek or Turkish Style coffee by adding cold water (measured by the desired quantity of cups or flitzani - like an espresso sized coffee cup) into a pot (known as briki). Add the coffee (one tea spoon for each cup) and sugar based on the required sweetness. Ensure you add coffee and sugar into the water and not the other way around. Stir in well and then add pot to medium heat (or switch heat on if using an electric briki).  The best results are obtained when cooking on a gas stove.

When the briki is on the heat (or switched on), do not stir the mixture as the coffee sediment should be allowed to settle to the base of the pot. This will ensure you have no resulting sediment when you pour into the cup.  It is also important not to stir the coffee during the cooking process because the stirring will either stop the formation of foam or dissolve it into the coffee mixture. A thick layer of foam is a necessary part of a good cup of Greek or Turkish style coffee. Immediately before the water begins to boil, empty contents into the cup (flitzani). If more than one cup is being served, fill each cup about half to ensure that each serving receives a good portion of the foam. Enjoy!
